How it works

Go to Settings → Integrations → Telegram in your Fencemaker dashboard and click Connect Telegram — this generates a one-time connection token.
Mobile (one tap): open the link Fencemaker gives you and Telegram connects automatically.
Desktop / manual: open Telegram, search for the Fencemaker bot, and send /connect <your token>.
To alert a group instead of yourself, add the bot to that group first, then send the connect command there.
Refresh the dashboard to confirm the connection — a test alert follows immediately.

Does this cost extra?

No. Telegram alerting is included free on every Fencemaker plan, including the free tier.

Can alerts go to a group instead of one person?

Yes — add the Fencemaker bot to a group and send the connect command from there to route alerts to the whole group instead of a single chat.

Do I need to run my own bot?

No. Fencemaker uses a single managed bot for every account — you link your chat to it with a one-time connection token. There's no bot to create or host yourself.

Does this replace the webhook API?

No — it complements it. Use Custom Webhooks for automation and system-to-system workflows, and Telegram for human-readable, mobile-first notification.
